Sunday Morning Worship

8 am – Parish Communion at St Luke’s (cnr. Ruthven & Herries Streets), with Atrium (children’s ministry)
This is a mainstream Anglican Eucharist in the splendid setting of St Luke’s, using the beauty of the architecture and space, with organ and piano, lively intelligent preaching and prayer, and with hymns, songs and other input reflecting the breadth and depth of the Christian tradition and world church.  The congregation is a friendly and cohesive community open to others, seeking to be inclusive of all, irrespective of background, circumstance or ability, and engaged in the concerns of our wider community and world.  All are warmly invited to join us and to share in refreshments afterwards.  The Atrium (based on Montessori principles) also runs, in school terms, during the service (from 7.45 am) to provide positive space and nurture for children.

Occasional 9 am – Combined Parish Worship at St Luke’s (cnr. Ruthven & Herries Streets)

On a number of occasions each year (such as Palm Sunday, Confirmation Sunday and Carnival Sunday)  our whole community celebrates together and we are often then joined on by singers from our local Anglican schools, by the Toowoomba Concert Band or by other choirs or musicians.

Sunday Afternoon/Evening Worship and other gatherings

We are currently developing new patterns of worship and community life on Sunday afternoons and evenings.

These include:

(3rd Sundays) occasional concerts and/or Songs of Praise at St Luke’s
Please contact the parish office for upcoming events and details

Midweek Worship

8:30 am - Morning Prayer at St Luke's
A small group meets every week from Monday-Thursday in the side-chapel in St Luke’s (or in the St. Luke's Vestry between June-August).  Everyone is most welcome to drop in occasionally or to attend regularly.

Wednesdays at 5 pm – Christian Meditation in the Parish Ministry Centre (next to St Luke’s)
This is an half-hour time of silent meditation in the ancient Christian tradition revived by Fr John Main.  We begin and end with a simple prayer and piece of music.  All are most welcome to join us at any time to share in this time of peace in the middle of the busy week.

Thursdays  at 10.15 am – Midweek Eucharist at St Luke’s (cnr.Ruthven & Herries Streets)
Early morning is a difficult time for many older people and for parents with young children.  This Eucharist on a Thursday at 10.15 am therefore offers the opportunity to share in a relaxed and cheerful service. It is especially helpful for the busy or frail and those who are seeking midweek fellowship, and who need a service which is short (just thirty minutes), yet still has a reflection on the Bible readings.  Anointing and prayers for healing are often offered and on the third Thursday three hymns are sung as part of a service including members of the Mothers Union.

We would love to see you at one of our services – please don’t hesitate to get in contact if you have any further questions. Our church locations are given on the Location page
